In the Satsuki room at Fuji International Kindergarten we offer a warm & friendly fun learning play environment where we strive to deliver a high quality, Play-based curriculum fostered with a strong school readiness focus that ensures children are socially, emotionally & cognitively ready for Prep the following year.

Our 4 Year Bachelor Qualified teacher teamed together with experienced Co-Educators devise a Pre-Prep Educational curriculum which promotes a positive, holistic & inclusive program. Educators use a variety of learning & teaching strategies that are derived from the Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines (QKLG) & The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) to plan experiences that are engaging & challenging allowing for children to feel successful in their learning journey.

Children’s interests, strengths & capabilities are recognised through daily spontaneous & intentional learning experiences as well as through regular observational practises. Regular parent input is widely welcomed to help promote an open line of communication, which in turn helps bridge the home/kindy life gap.

Numeracy, Literacy, STEM & Music components form a large part of our day-to-day curriculum. We support & recognise diversity within our centre. Yugambeh language lessons (the traditional spoken language of the Kombumerri people), Japanese lessons & incorporating languages from around the world are a significant aspect of our daily sessions. We also offer experiences to build upon Independence/confidence skills & embrace Environmental connections through outdoor play, Bush Kindy visits & exploring ways to embed sustainable practises within our kindy day.

Gross motor capabilities are an ongoing area of development. Children are guided, supported & challenged to build upon these skills through various movement, obstacle-based experiences from climbing trees in Bush Kindy, to using swings, monkey bars or climbing over obstacle paths. Just as important are our fine motor skills - small manipulative experiences are incorporated daily to help strengthen hand muscles skills necessary for writing.

In the Satsuki room we offer a holistic approach to your child’s learning journey 😊
